Description
Grey powder with special cements, selected mineral fillers and easily dispersible plastics.
ARDEX K 71 is a cement-based compound for resurfacing concrete floors to create a hard, smooth, flat wearing surface, or base for coatings. It incorporates the unique ARDEX ‘Rapidry Formula’ which chemically binds the mixing water, allowing it to dry rapidly while developing high strength.
Mixed with water, ARDEX K 71 is a fluid self-levelling mortar which can be applied by pump, or hand trowel at an application thickness from 3-30mm neat, or up to 50mm incorporating aggregate.
Use
Indoor. Floor.
Thick layer levelling for levelling:
- Cement screed and concrete floors
- Calcium sulphate screed
- Old substrates with firmly adhering, waterproof adhesive residues
- Mastic asphalt screed
- Magnesite screed
- Dry screed elements
- Ceramic tiles and slabs
- Terrazzo floors and other suitable substrates
For subsequent laying of textile and elastic floor coverings such as design flooring/LVT, rubber coverings, linoleum, PVC and CV coverings, ready-made and solid parquet, ceramics, natural stone and large-format tiles.
Considerations
ARDEX K 71 cannot be used outdoors or in permanently wet areas.
ARDEX K 71 can be processed for approx. 25 minutes at +18°C to +20°C, with lower temperatures extending the working time and higher temperatures shortening it. ARDEX K 71 thick-layer levelling compound should be applied at temperatures above +5°C.
The ARDEX K 71 layer can be walked on after approx. 2 hours at +18°C to +20°C and, with a layer thickness of 10 mm and +20°C and 65% relative humidity, is ready for covering after 12 hours. Tiles can be laid once the surface is walkable. For natural stone that is sensitive to moisture, wait until it is dry.
Under good drying conditions (20°C, ≤65% RH), coatings can be applied after 24 hours at 20mm and after 48 hours at 50mm.
ARDEX K 71 is suitable for severe high abrasion and heavy wheeled traffic, found in very heavy duty industrial workshops, warehouses, etc. ARDEX K 71 is intended for forklift traffic and similar use. Excessive service use, such as dragging of heavy metal equipment or loaded pallet trucks with protruding nails can cause gouging and surface damage. It’s recommended to seal ARDEX K 71 for ease of cleaning and to give it some protection from staining if necessary.
If in doubt, apply to a test area first.

*All data is approximately based on laboratory test made at a temperature of +20°C and relative humidity of %65. Environmental conditions may change these values. Higher temperatures and lower relative humidity decrease these duration whereas lower temprature and higher relative humidty increases them.
