ARDEX P 4 READY: Multi-Purpose Quick Primer
ARDEX P 4 READY is a ready-to-use, fast-drying acrylic primer for interior and exterior use on walls, ceilings, and floors. It is ideal for preparing porous and dense surfaces such as concrete, cement, ceramic, terrazzo, and more. The primer dries in approximately 60 minutes and is suitable for use with underfloor heating. It is solvent-free and available in 2 kg and 8 kg buckets.
Description
Solvent-free, white synthetic resin dispersion with special additives and quartz sand. Spray and drip-reduced consistency.
Use
Indoor and outdoor. Floor, wall and ceiling.
Primer and bonding agent for absorbent and non-absorbent substrates such as:
- Concrete,
- Cement and lime-cement plasters,
- Cement and calcium sulphate screeds,
- Magnesite screeds,
- Mastic asphalt,
- Terrazzo, tiles and slab coverings,
- Dispersion coatings,
- Old, waterproof adhesive residues,
- Dry screeds,
- PVC flooring,
- Levelling compounds,
- OSB boards,
- Lacquered wooden floorboards,
- Chipboard,
- ARDEX epoxy resin primers
- For use with tile adhesives, floor and wall levelling compounds.
Considerations
When applying to old substrates, ensure that the levelling compound and adhesive residues are waterproof, sufficiently load-bearing for future loads and adhere well to the substrate. Allow the primer film to dry overnight. Water-soluble levelling compound and adhesive residues (e.g. containing sulphite lye) must be completely removed.
For adhesive residues based on polyurethane, epoxy resin and bitumen, use ARDEX P 82 Synthetic Resin Primer as a bonding agent.
ARDEX P 4 Primer is not recommended for submerged locations such as swimming pools or substrates such as metal, mastic asphalt, excess adhesive residues, Polyurethane and Epoxy coatings.
Coatings to be applied on existing ceramic, terrazzo, natural stone, PVC, etc. must be fully bonded to the substrate and must not be detached in any way. Before priming, the surface should be thoroughly cleaned with appropriate products (preferably Lithofin).
ARDEX EP 2000 primer that has not been sanded can be coated with ARDEX P 4 READY within 24 hours. Once ARDEX P 4 READY has dried, levelling compounds with a layer thickness of up to 10 mm can be applied using ARDEX floor and wall levelling compounds.
ARDEX P4 READY must dry for at least 12 hours on calcium sulfate screeds when laying tiles.
ARDEX P4 READY (undiluted) can be used with the following ARDEX tile adhesives according to the specified tile sizes:
- Small formats (≤ 0.36 m²): All ARDEX tile adhesives
- Medium formats (≤ 1.44 m²): ARDEX X 7 G and ARDEX X 7 W
- Large and super formats (≥ 1.44 m²): ARDEX X 701 TG and ARDEX X 701 TW
PVC LVT flooring must adhere firmly to the substrate and must be thoroughly cleaned to remove all residues of care and cleaning products.
In case of doubt, carry out a test application.
